clutch

hi folks just put my flywheel on and started doin clutchb only thing is when i bolt it up the spline on seem closed is this right

thing is ime converting forom automatic so dont know what it looked like when it came off thanks again

Are you reffering to the fact that the clutch plate is very close to the fingers on the pressure plate? If so, do you know if the pressure plate has a pull to release mechanism?

it should be a 2.2 natural asppirated push clutch

That is a push to release pressure plate. It doesn't look like a Daikin / Exedy (same company) one though. What make is it out of interest (go by what's stamped / printed on it, not what it said on the box, as they all sell each other's clutches. Only AP, Daikin / Exedy and Valeo actually seem to make them

In the top photo it looks like the disc may be a smaller diameter than a 228mm VW one, or is that just misalignment with the pressure plate?

How thick is the disc when the Marcel spring between the two friction linings is compressed flat?, and what make is is if it is a 228mm VW one (looks like possibly LUK?)

the pressure plate is from a company called national and only has a serial number on it ca345 48a .mmm as for friction plate for some reason i got it into my thick skull it was 118mm(bank holiday 3 days with stella) so measurment with marcel spring pointless .what i did do is trail fit it with the disk tha came with it an it just seems very tight.takes a good few turns on nuts to even get the dowls lined up .i went and toyed with a couple of lawn mower ones and dont seem half as tight as this .
