Unfortunately, despite my username, i never did manage to convert my bay to alfa power.
I have now sold my 73 bay, in all its lawn mower glory, and i am moving to the dark side with a long wheelbase t4.
If anyone is interested in it, i still have the engine i intended to do my conversion with.
Its a 1712cc 16v quad cam from an alfa 33 series 3, and never was a more glorious sounding engine ever born or thought of. These babys are sweet, partly thanks to their sexy looking inlet manifold, and partly due to the 3 bearing crank that lets them rev very high giving stupid amounts of torque.
I'll stick it on the for sale section when i get round to it. No idea how much i'd want for it; i won't be asking very much because i personally have never seen this block running. It came from an alfa mechanic who was running 2 highly tuned 33's, this was his spare engine and he said it was fully working, but that was some time ago. It has no ecu and the bare minimum of wiring, plus it has its fair share of cobwebs covering it in my parent's garage.
anyone interested?
