I'm still getting error code 24 idle control valve. So want to try a vss to see if it makes any difference.

I know you you can use a reed switch and fridge magnets, but what's the out put the ecu needs, is negative pulses or positive. I guess negative as everything else seems to be negative switching?

If that works and stops my error code I'll get a more reliable one from RJES.

What's the error code, and what ECU do you have?

The error code is 24 idle control, ecu V5 225 AB530 A18-000RJ4 3X28.

I read somewhere someone had the same error code and a vss solved it, but I'm not sure what ecu he had.

Might just get one of the rjes vss's, for 5v got find the right resistor and I've not much room round my inboard cv's for magnets.

Thanks for the information.

I don't have any feedback about thet ECU yet, but there definitely are a few ECU's which give error code 24 when they don't get a speed signal. Does it have any other symptoms such as cutting out at junctions or after a long time at a constant speed on a motorway?

You don't need a 5V supply. 12V is fine.

It runs perfect, no problems at all. Think I'm going to make a vss to see if that works.
