She was a bit gattered to say the least. Walked straight into the porch post!

Right, gotta go and work on the van. NS sill (inner & outer), b-post, some top-hat sections, outriggers, jacking points, 1/2 front wheel arch & bits of floor need to be replaced

i still have the blower from my 1776 vw engine sitting here doing nothing but trouble im having is finding room to mount it and pick up the belts

it can be done with good results though
theres a few people here in aus that are blowing 2.2s in early model subarus and they crank along nicely

lucky for me space wouldnt be an issue as it would be in a T3/T25 van Happy

i checked out the link elusive posted but could only find stuff relating to later engines ...ej20 and ej25.seems most people have to run a piggy back ecu set up.

im not looking for mungo power another 30 or 40 horses would be cracking.

surely the the subaru ecu should cope?

have any of the guys in oz who've supercharged their 2.2s put up any info online?

ive no experience whatsoever of superchargers other than i love hearing that metallicky whine!

elusive you sure have some welding to be done there...can i make a suggestion ? scrap it and get a t3 Laugh Out Loud

If you're only after another 30-40 bhp ober an EJ22, save yourself a lot of work, research, and cash by just upgrading to an EJ25. DIY super / turbocharging can be a VERY expensive passtime if you get it wrong, and trying to con a stock ECU into fuelling it correctly sounds like an ideal way to get it wrong.
Spending thousands building (and rebuilding, then rebuilding again) a 130 bhp 1584cc type 1 engine was what got me in to Subaru engines, and I went to a lot of trouble to learn as much as poss about how to do it right (like buying and reading about 6 books).

If you are going to have a go, buy "Maximum Boost" or "Supercharged" by Corky Bell. The best £25 your'e ever likely to spend on forced induction, and ptobably the best tuning book I've ever read for the DIYer. Don't bother with other books - most contain far too much thermodynamics for my liking.

seems piggy back ecus are needed with a change of injectors.

2.5 it is then,new years project.fingers crossed i can make my clutch hold out for another month or so!
