I've got an 091 box in my bay and I didnt change anything when I fitted it so I Would think that it would all fit fine as long as you use standard size baywindow cvs. _________________ www.faltownskateboards.com |

cheers dude just thinking the split has a bug box that is narrower than the 091 box plus the split is narrower than the bay so the shafts might be to long? _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,

| pretty sure bay and t25 auto vans have different length driveshafts to manuals so there are some permutations to work through! |

I know richbaker is using 2 short T25 auto shafts (they're different sizes, short 1 on one side and longer one on tother) for his set up with the 944 arms as they required to be slightly longer than the standard bay.. I've gone for some 911 ones which are longer than standard bay but not as long as the short T25 auto ones that rich has... though I think I may have issues with mine as I have to stretch them a bit to fit.
Anyway a few more options and they bolt straight in. _________________ 1971 Devon Bay with 1800 Ford Turbo Diesel Engine (wip)

yep im using short auto shafts...they are 525mm long if i remebr correctly.
you are right 091 box is fatter than a beetle one. - i think more of an issue for you will be the length to be honest...or have you already sorted that?
i guess if a beetle cv fits a bus shaft the the reverse is true that bus cvs will go on beetle shafts so that might give you a very short option too.
i did a`lot of research about shaft lengths and posted results up on here so have a search in my history (sorry no time to now) i spent ages gathering info on lengths of 944/ bus/beetle/911 and other viable shafts. its very esy to make a CV adaptor if you can get the length but not the correct CV pattern but it wil add some onsprung weight. This will also allow you to run a shaft of exact length and use the adaptor as a spacer. |

your right the lenght is more of a problem than the width but im thinking of making a custom thin front mount and i can move the motor back about a inch without a problem if needed. i was looking at auto shafts if mine are to long? think im going to have to put the box in and try them. bug shaft wouldnt work as the bus cvs are thicker so the splines on the bug shafts wouldnt be long enough. _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,
