Thought I'd share this with you all. I've been using these for building my project and they are very handy and add a nice touch. Makes a big difference using the insert as opposed to a self tapping screw, you can tighten and untighten these as manytimes as you like without having to worry about them snagging it's hold, plus it opens endless possibilities to the type of bolt/head used.
Just adds a nice finish against going self taping or plain rivets.
The tool and attachments are expensive to begin with but tHe inserts them selves make up for the costs.
M6 threaded inserts pack contain 50 @ £2.50
M8 threaded inserts pack contain 25 @ £2.50

I wouldn't bother going for the studs again neither.
M8 stud are 50p each. _________________ Think......

i agree rivnuts are ace for puttting threads in a blind panel and can be very strong! vw used them for a load of applications mainly when fitting accessories they can hold anything from a t25 front lower spolier to the rear antiroll bar on a t4 so they must be strong _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,

Hi
I have been using these as well, I bought mine from Wurth. It makes for a very professional finish.
