compared to the turbo fitted as standard?
or
is this a standard turbo???

im in negotiations for a 1998 2litre turbo engine and wondered what benefits if any the TD05H turbo would give me as i think i may get the engine cheaper without the turbo that is on it.

once again thankyou in advance

the benifits of a td05 turbo are.. if you havent got one your engine wont run!
td05 16g was the biggest fitted as standard.
unless your after less power you need it, after all your ecu is set up for this.
i have one for sale under for sale.
good luck in your conversion.

I'll chime in here with what I have discovered about the TD05 as I too have one fitted to my motor.

What's your engine from? Legacy, outback, impreza wrx/sti?

I'm using a 1995 wrx engine which originally came with a TD04, the previous owner up graded to the TD05 which I'm lead to believe is the turbo which was fitted to the STI's of this era. I can't help you with the 1998 set up I'm afraid with out knowing the engines source.

The number 16 indicates the weight of the turbine. They go something like 16,18,20.......

Lighter turbines = faster spol up time but smaller punch

heavy turbine = more lag but heavy punch
