|
|
Hi all...
I have a subaru conversion, with a stage II clutch/pressure plate assembly etc... It require a lot more strength than a cable operated clutch, therefore need to fit a hydrualic clutch kit.
The SACO Performance one ( Products ) is what I am looking for, but do not really want to have it shipped from the USA.
Another reason for not usign the SACO kit, is that it bases its 'bolt on design' on the utilization of the original pedal setup (the master cylinder mounting in the tunnel etc...) but I will be using a new pedal box, with mastercylinders being mounted through the footwell etc... (as the standard brake master cyleinder is) therefore will be using the master cylinder from the pedal box.
I basically only require a slave cylinder (pull function) and a bracket to attatch it to the gear box etc... (or i can fabricate a bracket, and just need a slave cylinder.
I have been looking on the web all afternoon, as I swear i found another supplier in Europe/UK that made hydraulic clutch conversion kits, but I cannot find them now...
does anyone know where I can source the relevant pull style slave cylinder with the pushrod (pullrod :-)) to connect straight to the Bug gearbox Clutch release lever?
Cheers in advance :-) |

Sorry can't help with the pull type, but couldnt you just use a push type coming in from the otherside?
Oh and welcome to the forum dude _________________ '76 bay going superfly TDI |

thanks! Good to be welcomed :-) i am usually on VolkTorque forums, but seeing as very few of those 'aricooled - heads' know about Scooby conversions in detail, thoguht i would sign up here :-)!
I have a 1302, my baby will be subaru EJ20 WRX powered, Power steering from a corsa, Tarox 6 pot brakes all round, rancho Performance Bug Box and then the rest.. should be nice little motor once ive finished :-), the small things like this hydraulic clutch conversion, PAS conversion, Servo Brake conversion etc.. all seem to be the most tricky and annoying at the moment :-) |

Oh brilliant doppel, it would be ace if you could let me know any hints you have for how you did it. I am sure i shall be able to fabricate a bracket to mount the slave cylinder on myself with a little work, but if you know of any 'pre made' brackets/kits that would be great!
I shall definately be creating a 'build'.. I must have 40/50 photos seeing the car through its progress from road runner, to bare metal stripped out, through every stage as I slowly reassemble her (Lola)...
I shall do that tomorrow i think :-) |
