Any one have any pics of a radiator in a 1303? I should add: WITH the spare tie still under the boot?

So its just open under the front there and sealed on the backside to the bottom of the car?

sort of
ive cut a US air conditioning grill into the valance and the air comes thro that and is deflected up through the radiator by a scoop
the back and sides are sealed off so the air has nowhere to go but through the rad and out underneath
i used waterproof ply as it doesnt transfer any heat into the boot, is strong but light and very cheap not to mention easy to work with

Yes, you would lose a little HP's due to the fan running all the time (it's shaft-driven). But this should work pretty good, after all, the lawn mower engines use the same system.

One thing to watch out for would be balancing the fan, or it would shatter at high rpm's.

Well, I wouldn't use an electric fan. The shaft driven fan is alot more powerfull and more efficient.

With the electric fan, you have some loss converting motion into electricity through the alternator. And after that you loose some turning that electricity back into motion.

The V-belt shaft driven fan is more direct.

Guess i should put up some pics of my new install, been in 6 months now and coped perfectly fine this summer, hottest temp so far 40c/105f even with A/C on.

It's a series 1 Alfa 33 radiator with twin 9" thermo fans

On the left with my original mazda radiator on the right.

new replacement one
original leaked.

What radiator??
