thought I would share this in case your thinking of using a VW multivan rear heater in your conversion.
I decided to use a vw polo Mk3 heater in the front of my bus. This is a common choice as they are very small and compact.
In the back i thought it would be easier to use a heater that already was designed for rear fitting and so chose a VW t25 multivan rear heater as it is designed to fit under the back seat.
After an unproductive scrapyard hunt I ordred both off of ebay from diferent sellers.
I was pretty surprised when both units turned up - and both were identical except for the front vent panel.
as polo heaters are a lot more common than the multivan heaters and also half the price if i knew then what I know now i would defo be buing two polo heaters!!!
polo heater:
multivan/caravelle heater -
literally the front vent is the only difference! easily made.

thats right dude had one in both my old tdi bay and my tdi split they really kick out some heat as they are closer to the engine than the dash heater the only thing different between the rear caravelle heater and the polo one is screw on mounting brackets and the front diffuser nozzle, the t25 front diffuser nozzle just clips on to the heater box with the spring clips from the polo and they were still available new from vw when i last bought one about a year since and they cost about £8 trade _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,

| How are the two heaters plumbed? I'll probably end up with a back and a front and want some info on the best way to make sure both get flow. |
