Us Spec splitty rear lights (1958)

I want to fit 1958 split screen rear lights to my the rear of my van (The small round ones) but I have a few questions.

A. Are they rear light/brake light and indictor all in one?

B. If they are not all in one rear light/brake light and indictor how do you go about converting them to be all in one units- can you just wire the indicator to the rear light/brake light bulb? (I see plenty around so figure it is a standard thing??)

C. Are there any problems having the red lens's with UK MOT as tecnicaly they will be a fail but I see plenty around so is it just a case with checking with my MOT man?

A: The rear lights are all in one, but the only use a single 2-filament bulb.

B: To make them work on a bus that had amber turn signals, you need to replace the turn signal switch with the 6 wire switch from a North American van made from 1958 and 1971. That gives you a good range of styles, and the brake lights run through the rear turn signals, freeing up an extra wire for a third brake light or tach-signal through the harness.
If you don't want to replace the switch, you could wire in a stack of diodes to the lights, but then your turn signal won't flash when your brakes are on.

C: No idea on MOT regulations, either check with the MOT man and see, or don't tell him and hope he doesn't notice (easier to do if your bus is a split.)

I love the looks of those lights, and prefer the glass lenses to the later plastic ones. Good luck, and hope this helps.

It is always good to use LED lights instead of the normal lights that is being offered in the market.For which it has great attributes that is good for the environment and it saves a lot.
