Hi, just a quick post to let you know of a dealing I have had of late!!!

Listed my engine complete with all the necc items to get it running on a "Buy It Now" or "Best Offer" on Ebay recently for what I thought was a good price - £325 OBO. Didn't sell so listed engine on it's own without manifolds and electrics and fueling etc...
Got a message from a Buyer asking if I had the rest of the gear, which I thought I was helping him out by saying that the rest of parts was available. To which - He sent me a message last minute before bidding finished saying he bidded as long as all parts where included in sale!.
As you can imagine I was a bit upset to say the least especially as we are only talking about £200 for everything you would need except for adaptor kit!. I did try being amicable and emailing him but it has now cost me £20 in sellers fees and a lot of hassle.

If it says in the at that the manifold is missing you're safe aren't you?

The ad just showed the engine pictured as a long block with no manifolds or alternator etc...
I answered his question and posted a reply at which I think he decided to make his own terms on what was in the sale, I have to admit he did send me an e-mail but it was just before the auction ended and I was unavailable, so I think he was trying to stick in there and get it all for next to nothing!.
I did send him a message after it had ended (Next day) stating that I was not in agreement with the terms he cheekily imposed in his message before he decided to bid and opened a case to cancel the transaction which he just refused so hence why I have the sellers fees!.

Not really sure about Whats going to happen now as Ebay might have a different view on the matter even though all I wanted to do was be helpful and fare - For all I care the engine can stay where it is in the garage covered up until I need it now!

Contact ebay-I'm sure they will sort this out for you. They screen all your emails in your ebay inbox so they will be able to see him trying to be cheeky.
They have always done me proud (ebay) whenever some one has tried to scam me.

Thanks for the advice, to be honest I've always thought that to of ebay!. My feedback is 100% and over 600 so I must be doing it right. If I'm honest then maybe I've tried being too helpful and they have tried taking advantage of my good nature and try to bully me into giving them everything?. Ebay seams to have the buyer more in favour than the seller and it has cost me in fees and hassle.

All a little bit sad really - in the fact that I wanted to sell it to raise money to push the bodywork through and I don't need to sell it now as I been put on shifts at work with more money!.

Oh Shame mate!

Yer I have to agree with you about ebay favouring the buyer nowerdays! It does mean that more of them do try to take advantage of good natured sellers.

I've had a few close calls my self recently but managed to wriggle my way out of them luckily! I do have a phone no. for ebay if you want it I can pm it to you?

Just say they are not included, as per the ebay auction. You don't have to give them to him. Or just give him his money back if he has paid by paypal and tell him to jog on

Sorry for not naming him but all I intended was to let people know of a "Bad Experience" that I had on Ebay.
Besides the point that It wouldn't be a reflection of the person I am to name and shame someone else - I don't think the administrators & moderators would approve!.

In the end If he's still upset about it then he'll have to live with it as I'm not going to think about it anymore.
