I found the Vulcoflex, or whatever it's called, the corrugated bendy hoses anyway at SuperCrap. In the spaghetti of radiator hoses which were apparently meant to be categorized instead of sitting in a big pile on a shelf.
I would have grabbed a couple then and there, but of course I couldn't remember the diameter I needed! There's always next time. (Hopefully) when I get them, do they need protection from the beam? And if so what should I use?
That's odd. I replied to this a while ago. Anyway yes the ones on the right. How on earth would you seal the plain corrugated ones? The vulcoflex I can understand because of the flat ends.
BUT, where they pass through the cross member - I made up a strip of ally sheet 3x the width of the cross member. Scribed it into 3rds and bent/cut slots into the edges and lined the hole in the xmember so the pipes wouldn't chafe on it.
As to the corrugated ones, I think the clamping pressure evens out the convolutions _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

I'm having an awful time trying to get hold of the damn hoses. I can choose between ..oh what was it? 1-1/4" and 1-1/2" I think? There are adapters in my current hoses. Anyway I can see why they use the Camira radiator for Subie conversions. Besides it being the right width for the frame rails it also uses the same diameter as the EJs. Only thing is EJ hoses are wider than EA.
Anyway I'm having massive supply chain issues. If I can find a place that actually has P clips I might just secure my current hoses and take it for inspection. If they don't like it I'll change it.
Where my hose goes through the cut hole in the rear crossmember I slit some hose ad put it around for safety edges. The rad hose is a jam fit so there will be no rubbing as the rad is nearby and fixed also. No flex up that end to speak of. lots of swearing when I have to wiggle it free though!
The other hose passes through an OE hole for a heater tube or something. Well, actually it's a pipe there and has a tab for screwing it to the rear crossmember. A task I keep forgetting to do.

Whoooa fella - don't panic
First thing first - have you looked on aussieveedubers.com? I've heard they might be local to you
There's some real nice dudes on there: Helbus (Peter), Joel, Subaruboxer (Jorgen) & Pete Wood. They'll sort you out with 'local' suppliers.
Those guys can probably help you out with inspection issues. Most of us are Europe (mainly UK) and don;t face the legislation that you do
I had to "kick to fit" where my rad hoses went, a bit of lining around where you describe.
Soooooo, what was the question? 38mm on the water manifold IIRC
God, I thought it was only the Yanks that did inches
Hope I've given you too much info
Post up pictures fella.
As I said earlier: Aussies for specifics, hellbus, joel, and Petewood are all in your reach for specifics on codes
