On my T25 there was assembled a 19mm sway bar in the front in the first place.
In the spare bus I had a few years ago I found out that the sway bar was 21mm so naturally I took the opportunity to upgrade my car while I was picking parts.

Now I found out that it apparently also are 23-millimeter bars, check this link: http://www.powerflex.co.uk/product-details/Front+Anti+Roll+Bar+To+Chassis+Bush+23mm/1755.html

I have got a 7/8" rear sway bar manufactured by "Addco" (and I think "Whiteline" has one almost identical), it is now installed in the back off my T25. But I have also seen that Addco also have a sway bar that is made to the front. If I would purchase one of those and replace the original with it is it then possible to use the same mounts and everything or is it a completely different design? 1" is 25.4 mm, but perhaps it is 23mm in reality? There is probably no standard sway bar that is 23mm on these buses/pick ups only 19 or 21mm?

Would like to have the most solid sway bar you can get out there but I also want to re-use the orginal mountings and just replace the old bushings with Powerflex (all bushings all around the car not only the sway bar bushings).

First off: Why do you want a stiffer swaybar? To get less outward rotation of course. But hold on, there's a threshold when a stiffer sway doesn't do that any longer without making the curve handling worse.

If I where you I would try to find stiffer springs. But that you've done already, haven't you?

BTW, I have a feeling that someone used a late T4 sway bar in a T3, but I can't say for sure.

Actually my springs does not feel much stiffer at least not the rear spirings they are only lower (80mm H&R). I had to adjust the shock absorbers (Koni) to almost the stiffest mode to not get the car to raise in the nose when I accalerate. I would like to have springs that are both stiffer and lower than orginal. Maybe the H&R ARE stiffer but not stiff enough to manage my heavier and more powerful engine.

I do not know how the T4 sway bar looks like but in T3/T25 it is in three parts, I think it sounds strange if all three parts would look the same in both T3 and T4? But you think 21mm in the front and 22mm in the rear are enough?

I think you should find stronger springs first. The shocks should not take the load from acceleration.

There were actually coilover shocks as an option to the T2, I'm not sure if that was the case for the T25 as well but that could be a way to go.
A budget version, made by a bunch of friends with success, go to Mekonomen (car parts store) and scan their shelves after springs with similar outer dimensions and thicker material in the spring. Cut it to better length if needed.

Are yours like these?

Nope, this is what I got: http://www.vw-winkler.de/Fahrwerk-60-80-mm-mit-Koni-rot-gekuerzt and because the camber angle will outside the tolerance and there is no longer adjustment range to get it right again, I have those in a shelf: http://burleysmotorsports.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12&products_id=56
