Any Advice on Remote Brake Servo's

I have toyed with the idea of fitting a
direct action(i think that's the correct term) brake servo to help my brakes,

I see MadMick, you've fitted a remote one from VWJim.

I may use the pimped 944 servo on my Golf yet,

Anyway,
I see Ratsport do a remote servo and it's not too expensive..

Would it be good enough to help my brakes stop my Split 1.6d..?

They'll likely be a vw sourced disc jobbie on front, t25 drums on back setup.

Also.
while I'm asking questions,,

Did any other common car have a remote servo fitted to it.
Preferably one that I might get in a scrap yard..

direct acting is always cheaper, will give a better pedal feel and less pipe work hence why all new cars are that type. old mgs do have a remote servo but there single circuit i belive? if you just servo'ed the front i think you would keep locking them up due to weight distribution of van

I would Direct Servo it as I understand it's the better of the two.
However my van being a left hooker.
My clutch cable would have to be rerouted. (Isn't that correct)

I've since learned that the MG type are indeed single circuit.
That's taking a step backwards.

I probably will go with the Remote Servo.
Something like the one VWJim sells.
That would be suitable for a a dual circuit.
Am I right ?

So.
It's a trade off I guess.

Is it more hassle to make a direct servo work with a LHD splittie beam.
In a bus with a cable clutch.?

OR

Fit a Remote Servo in my bus and live happily ever after with my cable clutch intact.

Please Discuss.

my split is lhd but still has a direct acting servo from a golf even though there are a lot of things going on up front with the power steering etc, anything can be done if you put in the legwork Grin
