hello,
Iv done a rjes subaru conversion to my t25 and love it,very happy with the parts and service that i got from richard. I have ran it for ten months with no overheating problems,so i gather i have done the conversion right. Then it started to overheat and build presure, tried three different thermostats and can not get the water to circulate around my bus,put a new rad on as the last one blow a hole and rang the bus with no thermostat and everything works fine,all flows well, did 500 miles round scotland with no probs, but i want a thermostat in, as the vans aways running cold and got no heating,put another new thermostat in and straight away water will not circulate,
any ideas why this is happening,
the thing im puzzled on is why after running sweet for ten months then changing a broken thermostat for three different ones,which look the same as the old one,will it not work now,

Could you post a diagram of your cooling system?
Did you use the bypass valve?
Any collapsed pipes? |

Did you use the bypass valve?
Any collapsed pipes? |

Tip: get a thermostat from the dealer. The aftermarket ones don't open up well and the opening is smaller than OG. I thought there's an image of the difference on here somewhere.

il try post one but not the best with computers, by pass valve is on no collapsed pipes i dont think,as asoon as i take the thermo out the water flows and all pipes warm up and rad aswell, its ran rine for ten months which makes me believe iv done the conversion right.
its a strange one |

For future reference: I found 'an' image. It's not mine (but from them), but it shows what I found when comparing measurements on online shops.

Mine looks like the one on the left,im waiting for my one from subaru to turn up and give that one a go,it will be the forth iv tied |

Spring towards the engine, that's correct. Also their is a hole/valve/ flappy thing. It's pictured on the oem thermostat at the top. That should be at the top.
I'm thinking its going to be your coolant system design. Or a loose hose allowing air into the system then possibly causing an air lock.

got new subaru thermostat in, still over heats.so after trying four now still wont work. we got the air locks out i think,,rad is full, header tank half way.
i will keep trying |
