ej22 to ej20

hi all my ej22 n/a is buggerd needs heads working and waterpump ,so untill i can afford to get all this done was going to put a ej20 n/a in to tie me over.my question is ime running a r jes bellhousing would the clutch and flywheel work allso will i be able to use my existing loom

As far as I know, you can use the bellhousing for the whole range of n/a's. Loomwise, I think you can use it, but can't be sure.

Every EJ engine, the EG and I think even the EZ and diesel engines all use the same bellhousing, the later ones just use a couple of extra bolts.

Easiest thing is to just find another EJ22 or an EJ20 thats before 99ish and bolt your manifold to it.
It's rare that the manifold loom matches up, they change almost every year.


Usually repairs on these engines cost more than another used engine.

cheers for help guys swapping the manifold sounds an easy fix just got to keep my eyes out for a cheap lump
