Fan wiring , do I need AC connecting?

Ej22 in a bay, pretty sure it's a 96 3 plug ecu.

I've finally soldered my fan wires back on to the ECU.
I'm running 2 fans, wired separate on rad1 and rad2.
When running the system check the pump cycles then both fans come on together, there is a slight click before they come on, I'm presuming to turn 1 fan on but they both only come on at the second click.

When running they both turn on at about 95 degrees and always together.
(I've got a manual switch so I turn em on sooner)

Question is.... Do I need to wire the AC wire from the ecu to anything or is there something else missing from the ecu that also effects them?
Most wires were hacked off so I'm busy re-soldering them as I find I need em!

You don't need anything from the ac. Just leave those open circuit.

Rad 1 is speed one

Rad 2 is speed two

My wrx radiators fan are twin speed and I have two of them.

I've used rad 1 to provide an earth for a relay which controls speed one for both fans.


I've used rad 2 to provide an earth for a relay which controls speed two for both fans.

When mine is running the test cycle it clearly goes through the speeds one after the other and both fans act the same. However when driving I've never seen the ecu go into the second speed. I think this is all
To do with the ac and the vehicle speed at the time.

cheers fella!!!! That never occurred to me but now you've written it its obvious!!! I've got each relay wired to separate fans.

I've sorted my cooling issues, blown head gasket.......nicely fixed with steel seal till I save up/locate another engine/car.... The good news is its worked and I'm not blowing hoses ...
