to experiment all you need is some flexi exhaust and a couple of clamps then attach that to your turbo flange, spending £20 now to figure out what fits where and how loud is much better than having 4 or 5 full attempts at a system |

| Hi Wilfred. We are trying to utilise a gear linkage from an LT VW. It looks like it does the right moves and will look v similar to the bay stick. Feels like we are going v slow. Want to be at Stanford Hall at the beginning of May really :-/ |

Well. LT gear linkage means a slight move of the gearstick due to the handbrake mechanism. I am going to do this for now then try to figure out a way of utilising a Corsa linkage with the original gear stick.
Clutch master cylinder bracket made and mounted. Using the pin from a T3 clutch pedal to operate. This meant slightly increasing the diameter of the hole in the bracket on the bay pedal to accommodate the link pin. Operating smoothly. Off to the 'pipe' man soon to get the clutch pipe and fittings made.
Airbox mounted.
Turbo cooler mounted. Scoop made and fitted.
Exhaust 'found'. Utilising car bits to fit this.
Radiator mountings and scoop fittings fabricated and fitted. Radiator scoop fabricated (slight improvements required) This weekend is going to be spent 'plumbing' the van.
Hopefully running quite soon.
Cheers. |

nice work m8!
I am gonna start it tomorrow!!!
Probably not drive it, as I ordered some crucial parts that aren't delivered yet.... unfortunately.
Good luck to you anyway! _________________ 1973 BayWindow running 1.9 110 bhp TDI with flipped gearbox. |

Cheers. |

the immobilizer consists of multiple parts. there is a ring around the ignition barrel, which recognizes the key. (black and green wire). This wire runs to the dashboard, where the signal is processed and then sent to the ECU.
Without the right key, you will be able to start if you power the right wires, but the engine will stop running after two seconds.
Here in the Netherlands, there are many guys who can reprogram the ECU so it doesn't need the key. they write out the immobilizer from the ecu. _________________ 1973 BayWindow running 1.9 110 bhp TDI with flipped gearbox. |

Hi. I am getting around this by having a key and Immo' matched to the ECU. Hopefully up and running very soon. |

I hope you are right about getting it running without dash, but i seriously doubt it. I have the original key, ignition barrel and ECU. But if I disconnect the dash, it will only run for 2 seconds and than stop. That is the theft protection.
Mine runs by the way!
