4x4 bay conversion

G'day all. Now for front end update. I fitted the adjusters onto the beam but in the wrong location to give max lift. After some deep thought & finding front coil overs & rear shocks of a new Ford Ranger at the local tip recycling shop for $40.00 the lot I started setting up the setup required to mount the coilovers to the lower shock mounts After 1st setup a well respected VW GURU questioned the load strength on the lower stud. after a few attempts & sheets of a4 paper this is the result.



I had to cut the plates with a cut off disc on the 4inch grinder. due to plasma cutter needing new tip.




how the shocks are shaped with steel rod at the bottom to clear the driveshaft's on the Ford so perfect clearance on the kombi.

started the instrument cluster. It will be recessed into the frame 25mm with Perspex cover. I have to but the speedo yet it has to be electronic to work with the Toyota drive I have to move the tacho to where the volt meter is

wouldn't you be easier off using a GPS speedo?

There are nice ones available on the big internet. give it 2 wires, for 12v feed and you are set and done!

Got one myself for a Jaguar, which I upgraded with a modern motor and trans, which meant I lost the old cable drive.

G'day Wilfred. Here in Australia we have issues with Govt over the GPS type speedo's.

Shame. in the Netherlands they are fine with it. If you can tell the speed, it doesn't matter how you do it.
