1.6 td query SORTED!!

Just in case anyone out there was wondering? I've got to the bottom of the problem, the T25 1.6td engines have engine codes starting JX some of these had shimmed tappets and some had hydraulic. The VW engines with engine codes starting with JR had only hydraulic tappets. I managed to get in touch with the previous owner who confirmed that the original engine of JX origin was replaced with a golf one, so far so good. He then had pressurizing problems and then left it in the hands of a muppet who proceded to fit the wrong head and then told him there must be a cracked liner causing the oil contamination. Had to get to the bottom of it, at least now I know! Cheers all, take care out there

job sorted then ,,,,,,,,, will have to remember this on an engine i'm making up ,,

its all been good checking if all the oil and water ways line up to the headgasket , but then to end up with cross contamination
