Hmmm there is a slight consensus towards an auto if a big engine is used years ago i had a 2.5 e30 bmw with an auto box which i had no complaints about. suppose it will need a cooler though if i go that way.
Right now i need to find the fault with it. |

Something else you may want to bear in mind is the difference in rev range between VW and Subaru flat 4's. Any Subaru engiune will rev to at least 6250rpm - considerably more than a VW engine. I have no experience with auto's but did read somewhere that the shift points on the VW auto system ate all effectively too low when a Subaru engine is fitted, but that they can be modified by an auto box expert. No idea how, or bu who, but I guess there is some sort of mechanical 'govenor' which measures the negine speed to determine when to shift, and that this can somehow be modified. The subaruvanagon Yahoo group ought to have more info, as theyhave far more auto's in the US than we do.

Cheers RJ, I would like to use your kit but not sure of all the work. On the govner side of things. you are correct in your assumption. on the side of the box ther is a mechanical gov'ner. when you get the kit from KEP they send you a diagram of how to adapt the little arms in the jobbie.
