|
|
Ok so picking up my bay next week.
Its a solid rolling project.
I also have a xantia engine 1.9td that i would like to put in.
I am asking for as much information as possible as to what is required, and a how too if anyone has one.
Have searched for las few days and done a fair bit of reading, but cannot see a complete step by step guide, this is why i am asking.
Hope to here from someone soon, currently i haven't got a clue.
I alsoo want to know if it is possible to change from 4 speed box to 5.
As an aside i do have a 110 bhp vw engine as well. But this is ECU controlled so guess this would be a no no.
Many thanks Mark |

Appreciate the offer.
Am in Manchester.
What is required to mate the 2 together?
May well pop down
Think Someone else did it close to me as well.
Have had a proper look round.
Any chance of emailing pics? |

the xantia engine will be easier to wire as it has a fully mechanical injection pump (but may need imobilliser removing from injection pump prior to fitting) making the engine wire to run
the 110bhp vw engine is a bit more wiring due to being fly by wire but my split and last bay were both flyby wire vw tdi so by no means impossible
no point changing from a 4 speed to a 5 speed from a t25 as the 5th in the 5 speeder in generally no taller than the 4th in a good 4 speed box you want a 2.0litre cp box as its got a 4.57 diff and a 0.89 4th so will give decent motorway cruising speed _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,

you need a adaptor plate and flywheel for whatever engine you decide to use (for the pug engine try famous phil on here) _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,

Is is a simple enough fit, with a T25 gearbox and linkage
I take it the plate is still required |

Is that personal opinion?
Or a definitive answer.
Speaking to Phil
Says it can be done...
By mounting engine and joining via driveshafts |
