Porka gauges

Got mi gauges, yey!

Posche 924.
Any one got a pin out for the petrol/lights etc? There's a circle of 12 pins (maybe 13) numbered 1 - 12. What goes where?

Next Qs:
Is the fuel tank gauge compatible with a late bay sender?
Is the water temp gauge compatible with the VDO 40-120°C sender, if not what do I need? The Porsche's gone now so robbing it isn't an option.

I've got those gauges in my bug. I opened up the multi-purpose gauge and traced all the tracks on the PCB to find out what the pins did but later found a pin-out diagram on pelicanparts.com to suit. The early 944 had the same gauges so look under that too.

the fuel gauge works fine with the '73 standard bug sender so will probably work fine with the bus sender. Can't say for the water gauge though...

I have 944 gauges fitted to my 72 bug.
The fuel gauge does work but I ran out of fuel when it was reading 1/4 tank so be careful.
I have bought a 944 sender and am looking at possibly fitting it.
Otherwise I guess some electrical wizardry will be required.

So two years on how are you guys getting on with your gauges?

I too have these 924 gauges on the self at home and I'm contemplating whether or not I'll use them.

I read that the Fuel gauge is potentially an issue, how have you guys got on with them?

The speedometer I have appears (to the untrained eye) to have some type of speed sensor at the back. This is a small circuit board with two wires coming out, underneath this boards is a round metallic wheel, could be magnetic dunno? Is this what I think it is?

These gauges will be a pain to fit into my Type three but if I knew they would definitely be up to the job then I'm prepared to have a go at fitting them.

seems its for a mpg gauge!! (you wont want one of them)

dunno if it can be adapted to a vss with a flux capacitor or two.
