| Boxster cable shift working fine on my bay and very simple to fit. The cables are pretty flexible too and can be bent to clear things. |

This is what I thought. Try to keep as stock as possible in looks. |

I finally took some pics of my setup.
See also this thread: http://vwkd.com/bb/viewtopic.php?p=31784#31784
i can select all 6 positions now, using original gear lever .5 forward, 1 reverse.
Note: I don't know how the shifting pattern turned out yet, as I havent driven it like this. But in case it turns out wrong, I have ideas on how to change that. But that will have to wait for now. _________________ 1973 BayWindow running 1.9 110 bhp TDI with flipped gearbox. |

yes, I used a double joint and that works well. One problem I encounterd is the lengt of the shift. You need to adjust the floorplate of the gear selector to increase the length it can move cause otherwise it is just not enough for the passat box.
I really prefer the rod linkage option over cables Self Stockage. I have never seen a cable setup I really like, as in most cases you would loose the walkthrough.
I desperately want to work on the bus again and than I can show some pics. |
But there are also ready-made joints that you can install without problems, you know. |
