Long time since updating. But I’m still here.
Had to remove my engine and see why the thing wouldn’t start.

Just a recap and catch-up here.

Three 1.9 diesel engines from vw b5 passats and Audi A4
Three gearboxes (1 not pictured.)

Engine 1. A 1.9tfi passat engine I fitted to with Mtdi land rover fuel Mtdi pump, was fitted to my splitty and ran well. But I think it slipped a few teeth on timing belt due to a dodgy tensioner and now there may be a bent valve as it’s hard to start.

Engine 2 was a 1.9tdi 90bhp one that was converted to Mtdi with a huge top mount turbo. I drove it and it went well before removing it from car. Land Rover Mtdi pump.

Engine 3 is from a ‘99 Audi A4. 90bhp. Yet to receive an Mtdi pump.
This engine and gearbox was free after I sold all the bits from a ‘99 A4 I dismantled and sold off in pieces. .

Oh yes. I picked up an unused flipped gearbox adapter plate off a guy on a Baywindow forum. He wanted a 50degree Install and my engine is almost upright orientation. So it was too cheap to pass up. That will be fitted and will bolt to a newly milled gearbox.

So in total.
I have
3 x engines. (One needling surgery perhaps.)
3 Passat/A4 Gearboxes. (One maybe not used again after removal)

One we go with the build.

Will it ever end. HaHa.
