First update to the new scoop design.
After traveling down to Newquay this weekend with a fully loaded bus I can honestly say it works very well.
If I keep at around 70-75 then the cooling works fine but as soon as I start increasing speed (80+) then the cooling can not cope and the temp steadily increases. I now think the issue is getting rid of the hot air rather than getting cool air to the rads. More soon

Enter a Subaru EJ20 engine in a VW bay bus. Rear mounted Rad from a Hyundai Tuscon + fan. It is now winter in Holland, and it all works well up till now. Fan comes on at 90 degrees Celsius. Cooling system has yet to prove itself during summer, so it remains to be seen if this set up is up to the job when it's hot.

Ugly as my neighbours granny, but according to the owner of the bus it's working relly well.
He could at least made a Naca duct... Happy

yes it's a big improvement over the steering box much lighter and more precise its like a little go cart now with the subaru in Happy

but ive not had much chance to drive it yet just ironing out teething probs at the moment

that looks well under there phil, The ifs setup is great as it gives loads more room for the rad as there are no torsion tubes to get in the way, bet its a little flyer with that motor in! how does the auto box feel with the subaru motor?

yes she is very nippy and the auto box has been strengthend to cope with the extra power and seems fine so far but i havent had chance to test it as i need to get the mot sorted and im still working on my scoop as the fans come on when driving i think it's trapping hot air behind the rad so im going to try ducting some more air behind the rad to help push the heat out from behind or just ducty all the air to the back im not sure yet it might be ok when i can drive it at speed i just need to get it on the road and test it some more but im well chuffed with the way it drives so far
