I have a 1.6 td engine fitted to my t25, engine code JR? to my knowledge t25 1.6 td's are supposed to be JX, from some searching I have found that JR code relates to Golfs? Problem is I have a major oil/coolant contamination and on removing cylinder head have found that although a new gasket has been fitted it fits the block precisely but when aligning block and head together it allows the second of the large oil ways in the block to flow straight into the water jacket of the head! According to Just Kampers manual only hydraulic tappet versions require this 16mm hole in the gasket and the head fitted has normal shimmed type. Does anyone know if the non hydraulic tappet type gasket blocks this oil way or is this engine a mix and match!! any help appreciated.  |

| so when was the gasket changed, is the problem pre or post gasket change? what other gaskets are available and do they cut this off? |
