so what can i do to increase the power on my lowly 1.9 n/a pug diesel

Tweak the fueling on the pump and alter the rev limiter so you can rev slightly higher.

I normally tweak the pump about 1/4 of a turn at a time until its smoking too much then back it back again slightly.

you can also alter the timing of the pump by undoing the lock nuts and twisting the pump round until it revs more smoothly.

Hello you need one with the bocsh pump for a good start as not easy on the lucas ,,,, chuggaboom what did the engine come out of Happy

You can tweak the Lucas pump but its far harder to do, also its not as good a place to start from as a Bosch pump though.

came out of a 306 will check what pump is on

i have lucas one on my turbo can i do the same with that turning the pump

i want more power


ok other than tweaking the pump any thing else i can do

maybe after this convo we could do sominstructions on the easiest way to do it and have it as a sticky in the forum

I know this is not PUG but I'm guessing the principles are the same and maybe the pumps as Ford use Lucas and Bosch pumps.
