Well mine finnaly rotted through last week and although I have been pleased with it I'd thought I'd see what every one else was doing for there exhausts before making a brand new on out of Jetex pieces.
Last time I made my exhaust out of scrap yard bits-so to get 4 odd years out of it was fine-but this time I want to make it quieter and last longer.

i went for the side exit option.....it drops down next to the gbox heads diagonally accross the van and u-turns so the backbox sits just in front of the rear wheel. i used a combo of a subaru downpipe (for the flange and to save buying some bends) and the rest was Jetex stuff. I did this to keep it 3 inch all the way - there arent many cars in scrappies with 3 inch zorsts!

A bit lacking in tlc but works fine.
First section and box from the Legacy, couple of 90 bends, a shalow bend from an unknown exhaust I had kicking about, cherry bomb silencer and a tail pipe that has some sort of silencing inside.
Not as good a sound as a wrx but not ilegal either.

My first set up
But changed to over the G'box option as thought exhaust next to rad wasn't best plan for cooling and was reet in the way when I put a scoop on! _________________ 1971 Devon Bay with 1800 Ford Turbo Diesel Engine (wip)

photo of my exhaust system on 1.9td splitty 2" pipe with stainless back box from mk1 golf gti bought some black exhaust wrap to keep the engine bay cool. the shorter and the less restriction in the system the more boost the engine will make (and power) and the cooler it will run
