is it possible to put an 06 wrx engine into a vdub ?
its variable valve timing so will be keeping the ecu but my main concern is the immobiliser is this bypassable ?

why would you want to bypass it ?
just incorporate it

thats an idea, but what parts would you need for the imoobiliser to work ? wouldnt you needs the car keys ????

you will need the chip anyway what ever you do i think

Haven't you posted this on Aussies?
I think the 06's might use the Canbus(?) system which is like an "in car internet" which would make the loom a pig. (I could be wrong, feel free to correct me)
With my Scooby I needed the chip from the key, antenna & immob 'gubbins'. Breakers like to be able to re-sell entire lock sets from the donors but will remove the chip from the key for you
