My EJ22 bottem end has gone :-(

Tempted at putting a diesel in as we go away in the van a fair bit, anyone got a adaptor kit they fancy swapping?

If so my wiring loom etc may be up for sale

If I can get an adaptor kit to swap I'll do it, Mrs is very keen and a mates just bought all the bio diesel kit for his genny's. If I provide my own chip fat and buy some of the chemicals...... Grin

If not its back to a scooby and bad mpg (I really need to find a 2 ltr box!)

With a 1600 box not a lot, low 20's I think. Engines sudddenly drinking oil too!

I do love the scooby, its the most fun car I've ever had. But I'm also a bit of a hippy and fancy biodiesel. Chatted to RJES as I was hopping the scooby diesel would be good but sounds soo complecated and its not out yet.

Idealy if someone had a vw or pug adaptor and wanted to go scooby.....

Shame as my custom exhast is looking fab and apart from a slight coolent leak it was perfect.

sorry to hear that. Surely the cheapest and easiest option in the short term is another ej22 tho? if your planning another conversion you will be pretty much starting over...engine mountings, loom, well you know whats involved an youll need a 2ltr box even more with a derv engine!

Have you thought of converting to LPG? I would consider this for an easier life, just upgrade to a 2ltr box and get a cheap 2nd hand ej22.

It still runs and I am looking for an ej22 and desperate for a 2lt box

Biodiesel would be good due to my mates filter (£3000) and additive system. No second tank etc etc

The wiring on a 5-10 year old diesel is very easy and the plubings there, I could refab my scooby engine bracket and an exhaust is soo simple with stainless pipe thanks to the nice pipe bender in tewksbury!

I reckon with a good mate and the parts pre-ordered its a weekend job!

I wonder if I should have gone for a dirty diesel sometimes. You do use yours for long distances & will save heaps on fuel if you go that way.

Dunno if Simon (Lowlight) maybe interested in your bits if you wanted to sell 'em - someone will snap 'em up though.
