Vanfest Camping

Hi all,

by all accounts the vanfest camping will work on a first come first plonked in a field basis - as such any of us wanting to camp together need to arrive at the same time.
We will be arriving early afternoon (hopefully) and are happy to meet nearby and go in as a convoy - would be good to camp together as i need somebody to keep hold of my pitch while i display during the day!

in the same boat as you as also displaying during the day. I can't get there until first thing Saturday morning, so if you and the crew can save me a pitch on Friday night, that would be great. I do have a large awning I can stake out to hold the pitch during the day, plus a spare awning I can bring along if you want to do the same.
Looking to move the spare awning on, so any reasonable offer saves me taking it home.

If it all goes wrong see you in the hall.

Im defo up for it however my original plan to arrive with JP, Jace and Elusive ? has been scuppered as it looks like im going to be stuck in Cornwall with work so no chance of getting there by early avo. I cant get there till evening. I guess the others will arrive together rather than wait for me.

Does everyone have contact numbers for everyone so we can communicate who is where once we are in - in the hope that us late comers can squeeze in with the early birds. at the very least if we dont manage to camp up together it would be good to have a bit of a get together.

Happy to kick off a PM list of numbers to all that answer this thread if peeps are up for it.

im going to be there friday lunch/early afternoon if we could meet up outside drive in together take the piss abit tell the marshalls we have awnings the size of a marque and save abit of room as much as possible for late arrivers? i have pm'ed rich baker my number for friday lunch people

I'll be there. It'd be good to camp with you lot if poss, as last year I felt bad that I never got a chance to look at half the conversions that were there which everyone kept telling me about. Tied to my trade stand all day. Camping together, I could have a look in the evenings.
I'm going with about 6 mates, and we all plan to camp togehter. Nobody is bothered where we camp though, so I'll choose 'with VWKD' as I'll probably be there first, and I usually organise the rest of them anyway! Some of then will be in a Subaru powered panel van, but won't be displaying it, as they'll have a baby with them, and need the van as a base / shelter for the weekend.
Is there such a thing as marshalls telling you where to camp at Vanfest? I've never seen any before, but maybe that's because I usually get there at Friday dinner time. It's always seemed a free for all to me. Also, last year various mates arriving later had no problems camping with us (apart from understanding my descriptions od how to find us).
Who's going earliest, and deciding where we camp then? I'll probably be there early afternoon. I'd have thought that if there are marshalls telling you exactly where to camp, they ought to be sympathetic if we tell them we need to save space for others, many of whom are displaying?
