ok so I have now decided that I'm putting my recently aquired 2litre 8v/16v combo in my 1302s beetle with a bit of work.

I got the engine as a block with waterpump/alternator mount and not much else. I have sourced an alternator and exhaust manifold for this engine meaning bar inlet/injection system I have a complete engine for £100.

So now with the injection system I have been looking at the stock 16v inlet configuration but having looked at the mk3 (i think) the throttle body is right in the wrong place and would be a right pain in the arse to clear the engine lid. The guy i bought the engine off of supplied me with a pair of duel throttle bodies that he had seperated in half and started making up linkages to run them on this engine, which would sort of suit me to have a home brew setup so i can fit it under the lid, the end result I want to have a turbo 16v engine as its good for a few hundred BHP Grin (although i need a stronger gearbox!) but really I was wondering if anyone knew of any cheap good system as it seems megasquirt isnt exactly cheap! another alternative would be to use the stock 16v brain and just make custom manifolds, but to be honest i'd like tunability.

I think I have seen one on another beetle install but couldnt work out what VAG it was from, I'm thinking of turbo/supercharging the beast (im leaning towards a supercharger) and which is going to be better, using the stock style inlet with stock type injection or individual throttle bodies with a plenum chamber?
