Did anyone ever fnd out much about these?

I'm currently looking for a T25 pickup and knowing its only for short trips round town (my 2ltr gti bay is for long journeys) I'm fancying a 1.6 16v petrol or small diesel if they fit.

Either that or a south african bellhousing and an audi V8 Grin

well theres plenty of polos with 1.9 diesels in, and they lean forward like that engine so it gives greater scope for diesel engines that were previously unusuable.

I think the brazilian bay uses a 1.4 lump, theres the 1.4 16v in the lupo thats 100bhp? (or is it a 1.6?)

Certainly gives a bit more choice but I dont know what year they changed engine bolt patterns.

i think the torque the 1.4-1.6 engines produce would be pants in a van but a 1.6 16v or 1.4 tdi would be ace in a bug

well those new watercooled mexi buses have the 1.4 engine in so it cant be that bad (least no worse than the orignal engine) the 1.4tdi is one of the new breed engines though so would it be the right bolt pattern?

?? i would asume so but i would measure the stud pattern before spending the cash! the new bay does have a 1.4 engine but it wouldnt be the first time vw had built a underpowered van would it?
