If you have an RJES Subaru splined gearbox input shaft, and have assembled it, what, if anything, did you think of the fit of the shaft in to the pilot bearing? Thanks, _________________ Regards,

Thanks for the feedback. Someone in the US has fitted one from the first batch (like both of yours), and said that the shaft was too tight. I thought I'd tried a bearing on all of them, but maybe it was just on some. I certainly checked the fit of the splined on each shaft. I know the some from this batch fitted into the bearings OK, so it seems like that diameter must have been inconsistant in the first batch, and I don't have any left to measure.
I have already checked all of the second batch, and they are OK.
If anyone has any similar problems with the fit of any of my products, I need to know so I can put it right.
If anyone has a shaft from the first batch (bought up to around May '09), please check the fit of the pilot bearing from the bell housing kit on to the end of the shaft. It should be a precision fit, but not require any force. If yours is tighter than that, you have two options. Either rub down the end of the shaft with emery cloth, being careful to keep it even around the diameter, or send the shaft back to me, and I'll do it for you. If you go for the former and also have digital calipers or a micrometer, please measure the diameter and let me know first. Thanks, and sorry for any hassle. _________________ Regards,
