I've used 8 mm fuel hose for exactly the same purpose. But then on my Alfa engine.. Happy

It's doing fine, no problems. About 3 years now and more then 5000 kilometers.

They don't dry out, and they don't leak.

How cold is it near you?

I've read before ( unfortunetly I have no proof of my readings ) that the water travelling through the throttle body is only to warm it up and to prevent it from icing up in colder climates. Like those silly blankets you can buy for an lawn mower engine that wrap around the inlet manifold.

So... If the ambient temperature near you isn't that cold then in theory you won't need to keep your throttle body warmed up which in turn warms up your inlet air.

On the post I read the peope where skipping out the the throttle body and going straight to the other bit ( I think it's the idle stabilisation valve).

I'm open to being corrected on this on especially until I can come up with some proof. However if you relocated you throttle body it keep your engine bay alittle tidyer by not having to run extra pipe work around.

I'm pretty sure that in the article I mention they where using standard fuel pipe to by pass the throttle body.

thanks all

i figured it was just for heating purposes
its not a cold area here on the australian east coast
lowest winter temps are only around 4C/40F

but the pipework is all there for it, just need some longer hoses
i wanna replace the existing ones anyway as theyre original and well over due for changing

The coolant fittings are just to preheat the throttle body to prevent icing when it's cold and damp. Fuel hose will be fine.
