Hello. I've got a plastic jazz fuel cell which is baffled with foam, does anyone know if this will be enough to not need a swirl pot? Would rather not fit one if not needed with this tank.
Cheers Ian. |

Do you mean a Honda Jazz fuel tank??? Or am I getting It wrong?
You can buy large purous sponge, from Demon Tweeks I believe. You stuff It into your existing tank (if you've still got it).
They use/sell this to all the racers so it must be pretty good and up to is intended purpose.
I know somebody who's used it before and the only problem he found was it reduced's fuel capacity. _________________ Think......

Yeah bit of confusion there, Jazz make fuel cells for race cars, that's what I have, it is currently filled with a foam. I was wondering if I am going to need to fit a swirl pot too? Thinking probably not? Guess the foam will stop the sloshing of the fuel.

Haha, guess I'm old skool. I've never heard of Jazz nor of their products.
I fitted a fuel injection tank to my car so it has an internal swirl pot (mire of a bowl really) but no baffles. I may try my aping method though.
The baffles will stop the fuel from sloshing around inside the tank under movement Ie cornering, acceleration, braking.
The swirl pot is designed to keep the fuel at the fuel pick up to prevent fuel starvation.
Sorry if I'm stating the obvious here.
I would fit the Jazz tank and see how you get on. You can always fit the swirl pot afterwards if you do have problems. The other alternative is to keep your fuel level up high _________________ Think......
