audi 5 pot in t25 crewie but probs with engine!

hi everyone
i have a problem with the above i recently purchased the above and am very pleased with the truck itself however i am having probs with the 5 pot audi kv engine
it appears that i have a head gasket problem or possibly even a cracked head however it still runs and doesnt get hot it uses a little water but nothing major.
the conv has been done using the south african bell housing rather than adaptor plate.
i am just weighing up if i need to buy another kv engine or if something else more modern will fit to what i already have ie tdi
it is currently a 2.2 injected motor
any help would be very grateful as i am looking to buy a donor car very soon

i'd sort the motor out you've got or refit the same. the box wont take much more torque than what you've already got without spending £££££ on strenghtening it. p.s. the bellhousing will take a straight 5 tdi, v6 tdi, v6 petrol and v8 petrol if you can afford the box to go with it

im thinking 2.8v6 a4 audi engine
just need to find out what is involved with clutch wiring etc
any info on the above would be very much appreciated

when you say an early one would that be pre 96 as i read somewhere that after 96 the immob was built in to the engine loom?
what year car would you suggeest
