My loom came marked up ready to install, but the label disappeared from one wire.... It's a G7 ecu:

I have a feeling it might have been labelled to do with the Fuel pump but I've checked the wiring diagrams that I have and it's not on them....!? It's the one marked with a white arrow on the bottom right.

Year, model??

(Will hazard a guess it's the 12V to the main relay or fan control)

Here you go!

And if you find the Japanese difficult, this is taken from the Nasioc forum. I believe you are looking for a "exhaust noise warning lamp"?.. See the translation below.
But I think it's more an "Intercooler Pump control" that's used for something else (see further below).

Sorry..... It's a '94 EJ20t and after a bit of digging it seems that the ecu is from a legacy.

Sven - many thanks!

"exhaust noise warning lamp" Loving the idea of having a loud exhaust warning light! Grin

"Intercooler Pump control" - Would this be for a relay to control a water pump for a chargecooler?

The only diagrams I have for Legacy turbo's with water cooled intercoolers show only one intercooler pump control wire from the ECU, and it's not the one in your photo (b126:12). However, I do have a schematic (with no pin numbers or wire colours) which shows two intercooler control wires from the ECU. Maybe you have this version with two wires, as b126:12 is not connected to anything in any of my diagrams.

With both versions I believe the intercooler pump should run constantly at a low speed, then run at full speed when the ECU decides so.

Your ECU part number is used in EDM 1992 - 1994 Legacies. I guess it is probably not also used in Impreza's, but that's only a guess. Iy your engine has a water cooled intercooler it's fron a Legacy, if air to air, it's from an Impreza.

Was curious to know if anybody had done much else on this subject or has any further thoughts.... I know its an old subject but......

A little while ago when I was having troubles with my ecu I went through the trouble shooting section of the Subaru manual.

This link is to the Impreza workshop manual,

http://www.cannell.co.uk/Subaru_Workshop_Manuals/1993-1996impreza.pdf

Page 404 states that

B43 no 12 should be showing +12 V with the ignition on.

I know that previously I have found the manual incorrect, but only by misprinted wrong pinouts numbers, this was further along the path into diagnosing my faulty ECU and I can't specifically recall the were this is in the trouble shooting guide.

Currently mine is as above and open circuit doing SFA.

I have exactly the same engine year and ECU reference, I'll check on mine tomorrow to see where the wire goes and what it does.
