I have a 74 Late Bay Panel Van with a 2.0 Forester engine and my gearbox has died!

I have the opportunity to buy either a 022 2.0 6 rib box or a 091 6 rib box.

My question is this, which would suit my van best and what is the difference between the two boxes?

Hope someone can shed some light Happy

never heard of a 022 gearbox? you want a cp code 091 box from a 76-79 2.0 litre type4 van highest geared and strongest bay box of the shelf

It was my fault, it should have read 002 not 022

I have decided to go for the 091 I think it will be much better for motorway cruising Grin

thought you must have ment 002. The 091 will be a big improvement over the 002 i put a 091 in my 79 twin slidder tdi and it used rev at about 3500rpm at 70mph ideal for the subaru motor

Glad that you have confirmed my choice Happy

I will be installing it this weekend together with a new clutch kit from RJES Cool

It should then run like a dream

It was just pure luck. The guy that made my interior saw that I was looking for a new gearbox and it turned out that he had both an 002 and an 091 and he gave me the choice of both Grin
