Hi there guys,
A mate of mine (berrie120) is almost hitting the ceiling from frustration.
His splitvan is nearing completion but his oiltemp is going through the roof.
Let me spilout the facts;
forester ej20t turbo with gearbox (Subarugears) from '99
Engine is solid, drove before it was stripped from the car and had 175K on it.
When the engine is on within 15 min. or so the oil temp. is 120 degrees Celsius, watertemp reaching a low 75 degrees Celcius.
He hasn't drivin yet because of the high oiltemp.
Oilsystem is mated with a external fullflow filter and a cooler (in series) but no oilthermostat because of the stock oil to water heatexchanger.
Is he in trouble or are these temps. normal
Thanks in advance _________________ convertin' a VW T2 t1 '69 15 window "splitty" into a daily driver, to be continued.......
