A piece has broken off my starter motor. HELP

Basically the piece that broke is like the bit pictured below.

My starter is for T25 Diesel.
And the material is like a BakeLite type of hard plasticky housing at the back of the solenoid.

Has anyone any idea what to use to glue the part back on.
I'll get an actual pic of the piece tomorrow.

I would go for a high quality epoxy as it is non conductive and will act as an insulator. Go for a clear one as they are less heavily filled. Araldite or similar should be fine.

Light abrade and clean with meths and should be ok.

buy a new solinoid from a good auto electical place and swap it, its only held on with 3 screws and you can bet if you bodge it it will let you down when you most need it

I could not agree more with you 13 window. Better to fix once and for all. But epoxy would have got you to the scrap yard
