T2b now solar powered

Now my conversion is up and running I need other convos to pour money and time in. That's why I bought this:

to power my fridge, radio, LED interior lights etc. The idea is to integrated it in my pop top like so:

I hope to install it within a few weeks. Will keep you posted.

Like it, I assume you'll use it to trickle charge your leisure battery job done.

How much does one of these panels set you back if you don't mind me asking.

Jp, you are right. I'll be picking up n Optima Yellowtop 75Ah battery later this week for all those things that you don't really need to drive Wink

This panel was about €260,- including shipping from the Netherlands. It includes the regulator, some cable and mounting thing (which I probably won't use). Quite cheap in my opinion!

ill be watching this with interest as im going to do a similar thing with some panels I rescued from a skip. I was orignally goign to go with a pop top mount but as mine lifts up sideways and has a load of windows its not so well suited as yours. Look forward to seeing the progress.

Hei Rich, I bought a Dormo-top some time ago and I'm planning to put that on the van next winter. Then I will have the same issue, but I have some ideas already. But that's for later. I think That fitting it here will not take too long!

BTW, what is a skip?

It is done: my solar panel is in my roof now. A bit of a quick and dirty solutions, but will do for now:

A slot in the roof allows the panel to slide into it a bit. The edges are later sealed with silicon stuff.

4 bolts keep it firmly in place.

Wiring from the panel comes from underneath it (so will stay dry) and comes down along the canvas.

Yesterday night around 20h i measured these figures: Amps are max 12A, the panel produces max 100 Wp.
