I'm getting into this whole "taking your own project to a VW show business".
Having owned a VW since 2001 this'll be something like the forth of fifth time I've taken my own VW.
And looks like I've got it into the owners club display.
I'm a little apprehensive, only a week to go, I'm committed to taking the thing, it'll be the first time out of the county, first time on a real motorway and no doubt first time in real traffic conditions.
What have I got to worry about _________________ Think......

Round trip of 250 miles, averaged roughly 30mpg this time round, mixed driving
Made it there and back, kind of trouble free, was fucking around with a bad earth under the dash and knocked off the vss earth, ecu wasn't happy. Didn't have enough time to disconnect the battery to clear the code so made it home in limp mode. Was still good to drive though.
Can you spot it?
I'm the only loser with the deck lid up.
Was one of the best shows I've ever been too. Plenty of nice cars to see. Only took pictures of my own though _________________ Think......

hey,
that's a major milestone,
Well done on getting it to the show and back.
we all know the apprehension and nervousness attached to making a non test run journey in our projects.
nice Pics too.
Real Sleeper Conversion.

Thanks for the comments gents. The best bit about the entire journey for me was just being out an enjoying the drive...... Trouble free too. I never got on with the air cooled engines before.
Oh and before you ask I've now changed the colours of both the wing mirrors _________________ Think......

Fuckin hell!!!!!I was gonna talk to any of them, all those keep it stock, i enjoy adjusting my valve clearances every other week types. I could tell there was an atmosphere, I still amazed I was even asked to bring it
Basically I was told to get the car there for 8/9am, my kid woke me up at 07:30, after the nights session of camping and the usual VW show antics. I wasn't feel to spritely. Me and the kid took the car up there for 08:30, didn't speak to anybody as it was too early and only two other cars had arrived. I dumped the car and walked back to my van where we spent the majority of the day monged out. Went for a walk around and collected the car at 3 or 4. The only comments i got on the day were about the wing mirrors
As I was leaving I did here a voice saying "there goes the Subaru"
However I was sporting my vwkd membership card in the window
Ive been invited for the display for beach buggin too. Got a couple of weeks to sort out some major issues _________________ Think......
