Temperature gauge and wiring

Hi, I am currently in the planning stages for a conversion of my 71 bay window to a EJ20 lump. Could really do with some advice on how a temp gausge would be set up and wired in to the circut. Also oil pressure. I am guessing it wires to the ECU some how but cant find a thread to tell me how. Any help would be appreciated

Hi!

Get a wiring diagram for your lump and check out the plugs of the ECU: for both the gauges wires go from the ECU to the instrument panel. Hook those up to your own gauges and you're done!

Does yours have 2 temperature senders in the coolant manifold or just one?

the ones with 2 are easy, just unscrew out the old subaru sender and screw in the new one that belongs with your gauge but if there is only one you would need to fit a gauge sender, few different ways, either drill and tap the manifold or get an inline hose adapter.

And for oil pressure the sender is just under the alternator, connect the original VW oil light wire straight to it.
