Good afternoon guys,

As title says I'm new here. Loved VW bugs for years and took the plunge a few years back and bough a 75', used it as my first car daily for 2 years before it needed some serious restoration work - unfortunately I chose the wrong person to do the work.

After the above I bough a 69' currently sat on my drive under a cover until I can get the right weather to work on it! I know for sure it needs new heaters, inner arches and floor pans. The plan was to get a 'straight' shell to work on, me doing the chassis work and a professional tinkering with the body because I don't have any real welding experience, or confidences (yet).

The end goal was always a custom bug, looking as original from the outside as possible, with uprated gear. A subaru conversion has been on the cards for a while and after many talks with people I was advised here was a good place to start!

I'll be sure to start a 'resto' thread at some point, showing where it currently stands and my progress as and when it happens!
